Lake Charmes is one of the four artificial reservoirs in the vicinity of Langres intended to ensure the navigability of the Marne-Saône canal.

Lac de Charmes is nothing exciting. It's a reservoir in Haute=Marne, near Langres. There's a car park near the dam, and a little Guinguette selling food and drink, with the most enormous barbecue I've ever seen. Mid-afternoon, so I had the cheeseboard, which was fabulous. They also rent canoes and pedalos, one with a slide for the kids.
